At this early stage, the project is intended to be an ‘everyman’ exploration of the ‘Vanishing Man’ syndrome, listening to those who have, or are at present experiencing a change in the way that they relate to the world around them, or in their perception of how the world relates to them.
For some this will be a growing sensation of something being slightly 'off', perhaps feeling less valued or central to what's currently going on, for others it may have reached a full blown existential crisis that they may be struggling to understand or articulate.
For 'Vanishing Man' these may be difficult discussions to have, hence sharing experiences may be easier for some on a 1:1 basis, and for others in a group setting that may feel more collective and empowering.
The aim is to gather genuinely meaningful, real life, material that can be shared (confidentiality allowing) with those around the world that are experiencing 'Vanishing Man syndrome in their roles as partners, parents or professionals (including retirees) alongside pragmatic insights and processes to empower a new sense of identity, purpose and hope.
Finally, on a personal note, I put off sharing my experience with anyone for a very long time, hoping the answer would somehow reveal itself or that I’d wake up one day from the living nightmare that couldn’t possibly be happening to me, and all would be well. It didn’t and it wasn’t!
I’m now discovering that many have experienced, or are right now experiencing ‘Vanishing Man' syndrome, and with your input we can hopefully reach out to support ourselves and many others.
The logo symbolises several profound ideas:
Transformation and Growth: The act of colouring from within suggests personal growth, self-discovery, and the process of becoming one's authentic self, internal change positively impacting the external world.
Inner Light and Creativity: The bright colors signify creativity, passion, and the unique essence that each person carries within them, suggesting that everyone has something special to offer.
Emergence and Presence: The 'recolouring' aspect represents the fading of limitations, fears, or doubts, as the true self emerges vibrantly, signifying moving from invisibility or suppression to presence and acknowledgment.
Spiritual Awakening: The radiance from within suggests a spiritual or emotional awakening, where an individual connects deeply with their inner self, resulting in an outward expression of positivity and energy.
